Family & Individual Support Services
Maryland Community Connection’s FSS and ISS programs work with individuals and their families to identify desired services and activities and establish links with the community to achieve those goals. Individual Support Services provides assistance to adults with disabilities in their own homes and these services are tailored to each person. Maryland Community Connection’s FSS and ISS programs are flexible and dynamic to meet the needs of individuals or families desiring specific areas of support and for those who have changing needs. Services are to be readily adaptable to the changing needs of the individual. Maryland Community Connection will be flexible to creative and innovative ways of supporting individuals and their families.
Maryland Community Connection’s FSS and ISS programs cover a wide array of supports in the life of an individual. Maryland Community Connection will making use of resources available in the community while, at the same time, building on the individual’s existing support network. Maryland Community Connection will provide supports as the assistance to the individual to enable participation in the community.
Maryland Community Connection believes that supports are integral to each individual or family’s quality of life and often enhance the lives of those involved. Those supports may include, but are not limited to, supports involving: Budgeting; Medication administration; Counseling; Helping an individual to access and complete the individual’s education; Participating in recreational and social activities; Accessing community services; Grocery shopping; Respite, behavioral, and other services and supports needed by the family of the individual; and Developing relationships.
